Clean Alloy Wheels

Coming back from the rafting trip I told my friend about the alloy wheel job i'm trying to do. He told me that they can be cleaned by "sanding" them and repainting them. But more importantly he said he had a "sander". It consists of a 160 bar hydro compressor cleaner or whatever the english name for that is, with a special nozzle that sucks in a special kind of sand. The sand is sprayed with water onto the wheel or whatever you want to sand and it scrapes off the dirt and paint. So now the alloy wheels are sparkling new and all they need is a new paint job.
